Jacques Poitras interviewed MLA Kelly Lamrock on today's announcement that 5 of the remaining 33 Liberal MLAs expressed their concerns in a caucus meeting a week ago about the opposition they've been hearing from their contitutents on the proposed sale of NB Power to Hydro Quebec.
Lamrock could not say what was said in caucus but did say that MLAs are doing their job by listening to the concerns of their voters and they brought these findings to the private meeting on January 11.
He also said he could not in good consience vote for the complete sale of NB Power or any provincially owned asset, because the sale of an asset is different than protecting the rights of a minority, an ethical position in which he strongly believes.
Lamrock says he first heard about the Memorandum of Understanding about a week before it was signed.
